This may not be one of my more witty posts, but it's something I want to remember. Last night "Snip" (my almost ten-year-old daughter) came down and showed me a tooth that she had just lost. That's not too out of the ordinary when you've got three pre-pubescent kids running around the house.
A few minutes later, "Bird" (my 11 year old daughter) came down and told me that she had a tooth that was really loose and wanted to know if I'd help her remove it. This is strange because I could never do this as a kid (i.e. have someone yank my tooth out) and none of my other kids would ever let me mess with their loose teeth. It took a few yanks, but it came out--and so did some blood. Within a few more minutes, "Snip" came down with another tooth that came out.
For those of you keeping track at home, that's a total of three (3) teeth in one evening. That makes for a busy, expensive Tooth Fairy outing since the going rate at our home is $1/tooth. If it wasn't for the fact that I knew these teeth were actually loose, I'd suspect that I was getting taken--I mean, that the Tooth Fairy was getting taken...but I guess it's not possible to fool the Tooth Fairy, right?

Yeah, the tooth fairy was busy...and Mrs. Tooth Fairy had to help scrape together 3.00 (most of it in coins). No easy feat. But at least the tooth fairy actually visited the first night of a lost tooth instead of the normal five days later (aka "when I get around to it").
As long as they were all baby teeth!
Did you see ALL three teeth??? Or were they recycled to "take" the tooth fairy
Maybe that credit card recharge scheme would come in handy in this sort of situation. Desperate times call for desperate measures, even for the tooth fairy.
Oh and yeah, I'm with Rebekah. Did you do a mouth check? I don't think this would be the first time the tooth fairy got swindled by a couple of smart kids.
One day children will have their gene's spliced with shark DNA and THEN the tooth fairy will be in big trouble.
My poor son had, and still has a couple, impacted baby teeth, that refused to come out; so the dentist removed 6 of them at once. Talk about an expensive night for the tooth fairy. The next night my daughter lost one on her own.
At least when the last of his baby teeth are pulled, the tooth fairy would have been retired! (aka: He doesn't care if the tooth fairy comes or not)
