Overheard at Church Today

I can't make this stuff up, folks. It really happened and I was the only one laughing (on the inside, of course--I wouldn't want to make a scene).

As we started our worship time of singing, the leader made this announcement:

"Ok, everyone please stand."

Everyone got up.

The first song we sang was...

Come Let us Worship and Bow Down.

How ironic.

Paying a lot of attention in church today huh?? See, if you had a nice pretty pink color on your blog like ME then maybe you would be more "spiritual"! LOLOLOLOLOL

I'm guessing you stay seated for "Stand Up, Stand Up for Jesus."

And I bet not a single person flapped their arms on "I'll Fly Away."

Truly old school.

I was the clueless one in the 9th row. ;)

p.s. Stop by my blog to see what Reece prayed for in Sunday school class. Perhaps you'll laugh there too (and then help his teacher reposition her jaw)

Yeah, eally, he also drew a picture of a lobster on the sermon outline next to the typo where the pastor wrote "shelfishness" instead of "selfishness". BD is really mature. That's why I love him!

But I do have to say, the artistic skill he exhibited in that drawing surprised me.

The pastor and my hubby share the same sense of humor and often I see only Kev laughing at the pastor's jokes lmoa. WEIROS all of you!

My personal favorite is when someone leads a really slow-tempo version of "I Could Sing of Your Love Forever," and during the bridge everyone sings "Oh, I feel like dancing..."

Yet everyone sounds like they are ready to fall asleep.
