I Saw One of These Today...

(Note: I didn't take this picture.)

I'm kind of a bird watcher and today I was fortunate enough to see a scarlet tanager. I was able to put a check mark on the corresponding page of my Birds of Indiana Field Guide.

Very cool.

(I'm spotting a red trend in your blogging...not that there's anything wrong with that....)

Funny that you would mention that. I didn't do it on purpose but I noticed it after creating the scarlet tanager post today.

I'm getting into bird watching more now that we planted a tree in our yard. Everything around us is prarie and wetlands so having the only tree in a wide open space allows for some pretty neat bird action. I need to get a field guide for Illnois.

(Also...does this mean we're dorks? Just wonderin'. )

Hey hunnybeemay (also known as "Ham Eye Bunny" according to the Internet Anagram Server)...

It doesn't make us dorks that we are watching birds. It just means that we're old.

Speak for yourself Bid Goof Us. I'm only Hit Try (haha...get it). That's only old to teenagers. Also, thank you for introducing me to my new internet addiction. My husband, A Mythical Man Honey, also thanks you. He's thrilled. Just thrilled.

Wow!! Awesome!

We have no red birds like that where I live.

Some have some red on them, but nothing like that.

I did see a slug that someone stepped on the other day. (no photo)
