We just purchased an XBOX 360 for my 14 year-old son and myself. It's also a combination birthday/Christmas gift. Anyway, we're realizing that this device can be a great motivational tool when it comes to doing school and housework correctly. As it turns out, our son CAN understand grammar when he actually takes the time to do it.
We'll see how that works out.

We just bought the Xbox about a month ago for the family. The kids are getting a little disgruntled though because my husband and I have completely taken it over and they rarely get a chance to play it!
I think IPFW utilized a similar teaching method with the original Nintendo.
He's upstairs with Isaac and Zac playing the thing right now. We'll see if that improves his grammar!
The plain ol' XBOX? No help. Now, the XBOX 360? That one comes fully loaded, with brain fog deletion and all. ;) Keep up the good work, using all of life's little tools to your parental advantage. It's in the parent creed.
Blessings,

Nicely done! I use it for myself (at 35) to motivate me to get stuff done first. Unless I get X number of words written or X number of pages edited, it'll sit there patiently, waiting for me to power it up and win the game.
It's all about the rewards, yo.
I think you can write it off as a tax deduction for educational purposes then.
Genius, I say.
Plus it's good strength training should you switch careers and go into professional thumb wrestling.
