Cake Wrecks

There's a great site that my sister-in-law brought to my attention recently. It's called Cake Wrecks and I keep an updated link under the "Blogs I Read" section on the right of my blog. It's a great way to waste a little time. The site contains images of cakes produced commercially (i.e. anything from a grocery store to a professional cake decorator) that simply did not turn out right. Here's one of my favorites. You can just imagine the request when this cake was ordered, "I want it to say 'Class of 2007 Rocks!' and then have a fireworks explosion on it. Can you do that?"

Similar blogs include The "Blog" of "Unnecessary" Quotation Marks and FAIL Blog. However, I'll warn you that FAIL Blog can go over the top on occasion--you've been warned (FYI, they also have a g-rated version of the site)

When we celebrated Olivia's first "Gotcha Day" (the anniversary of her adoption finalization), we ordered the cake and I even spelled out "Gotcha" for the gal. Well, our cake seemed destined for Jewish festivals unknown because it read, "Happy Gotczah Day." Um,...what?
Blessings,

I've been in love with Cakewrecks for the last month or so.
My favorite is Naked Mohawk-Baby Carrot Jockeys.

How do you get your Blogs I Read section to show the names and times of updates on the blogs you read?

Mr. E:

1. Go to your Blogger Dashboard (where you add posts, update the layout, etc.).

2. Stand on one leg (this part is not that important, but I just wanted to see if I could get you to do it).

3. Click on the "Layout" link under the name of your blog (you also have "Edit Posts - Settings - View Blog" here).

4. Somewhere on your layout, choose the "Add a Gadget" link. A separate window should pop up.

5. Choose the "Blog List" and then follow the directions.

I love this because I can share the blogs that I follow AND use it as a home base to see what blogs have been updated recently. Enjoy!
