Happy Father's Day

How did I spend my Father's Day? I got up to get ready for church and went downstairs to discover that my two little girls (11 and 9) had made breakfast for me: eggs over-easy, sausage, toast and grape juice. Everything was very tasty and the eggs were cooked to perfection. It was only a few weeks ago that I showed the oldest one how to make an over-easy egg. Upon finishing my breakfast I got personal letters from all three of my kids and very cool travel-mug for my commute.

Later that day during lunch I got the BIG present--REDS TICKETS. How cool is that? I'll spend the day with my father-in-law and two brothers-in-law at Great America Ballpark in Cincinnati to see my favorite team play the Pirates. I can only hope that I get seated next to this guy (see picture).

Reds Win! Reds Win!

Yesterday was a great day. Not only did the Cincinnati Reds beat the lowly Chicago sCrUBS, our own 13-15 year-old Babe Ruth League Reds beat the Tigers for our first win of the season. We were up 9-4 and then let the Tigers back into the game as they scored five runs to tie it up during the top of the last inning. We play with a time limit so we either had to win it in the bottom of last inning or settle for a tie. If I were a paid, professional coach/manager I might have been fired for sending the runner at third home on a wild pitch with bases loaded and a 3-0 count. I just got so excited that I sent him and he was called out at the plate. Ouch. Parents all over the field were convinced that I was a moron (and rightly so--at least for the moment). I was going to blow the game for these kids. Thankfully, my own son came up to bat and let the struggling pitcher walk him to score the winning run. It was my first win as a coach and what a way to get it.

Busy and Overblogulated

First off, I'd like to apologize to my readers for not contributing for a while.

Actually, my mom doesn't read my blog that I know of. So, I guess my apology just goes out to my wife, Miss Sniz.

I think I burned out on trying to stay up-to-date on so many blogs with commenting and then coming up with stuff for my own. It was just too much. Have any of you had similar experiences? I decided to back off a bit and deal with more pressing things--like Halo 3 (Tappity---we need to play. I've gotten much better.). Actually, I'm dealing with a HUGE work project these days--busy, busy.

I'm also grieving over the fact that the Reds let Josh Hamilton go to the Texas Rangers. Mr. E, enjoy him. He's a ball player.

Of course, I'm REALLY pre-occupied by the upcoming IndyCar Series. The first race is March 29th at Homestead (Miami) and it's a night race. W'hoo!!!!! Open wheel racing season begins in a few weeks.
